About the course:
Planning is, of course, essential in business because it requires a deeper understanding of the resources available and the strategy for applying them, but it never seems to be quite enough. What’s the missing ingredient that brings a plan to life and gives it a dynamic of its own? It’s the difference between looking for a future and allowing yourself to be found by one.
If you go into the business or self-improvement sections of any large bookshop, you’ll probably find more books written each year about leadership and creating the future than about any other subject. What is it about this topic that so fascinates and concerns us? Our approach in this two and a half day course won’t be found in those bookshops nor will the work you do in it be based on the usual views in those books.
There are three kinds of future:
Using interactive dialogue and distinction based learning, we’ll explore the difference between DOING work and BEING at work. Usually, commitment is perceived as an expression of strong will, which we use to motivate ourselves and others to overcome resistance in the environment. And as such, commitment is like a sledgehammer we use to make real our intentions in the world – or to put it bluntly, to dominate life so that we can get what we want. In this course, you’ll have an opportunity to bring your deepest intuition to your experience of your worklife so as to shift from strength of will to energetic resonance. Commitment then becomes a gateway through which the future that is looking for you can find you.
The intention of the course is to transform your experience of work from being based on strength of will to being based on energetic resonance, so that rather than pursuing a future you’re able to let one find you.
